And so it begins...

Ok... so a little background on me and this blog.

I'm a 20 something girl from Norwich, who has had a bit of a life change over the last few years. I've gone from being afraid to be myself and trying to fit in with the 'norm' to embracing who I really am and what I want to be. I wouldn't say that the fear has gone or that my transition is complete, but I am starting to be myself and do things for one person...ME!!

My Granny was a dressmaker / seamstress, whatever you want to call it and much of my childhood was spent wearing clothes lovingly made by her. Unfortunately my Mum didn't share this passion and I didn't have the opportunity to learn from her immense talents (she died when I was 14), so I have grown up with a lack of skill where sewing is concerned!

This had never bothered me before, but over the last year (as part of this transition in my life) I have lusted after the beautiful clothing from Vivien of Holloway and Boo Boo Kitty Couture (to name a few!) and wondered why I have spent so many years wearing mass produced clothing that just doesn't have the same fit as something custom made!

So (I'll finally get to the point!) this has brought me to this point; I WILL learn to sew! This blog will be my little space to discuss aspects of my life, feelings and most importantly; my mission to learn to sew. I am not promising great things (this is all new to me), but I thought that writing all the steps I take on this blog might give someone else who has been thinking the same thing some guidance!

Thanks for bearing with me... and please continue to do so, as blogging is also totally new to me!!
