I’ve finally got round to uploading my pictures from the weekend and what a weekend it was!
On Saturday we flew to Paris arriving just in time for breakfast. We went straight to view the Notre Dame Cathedral, where there was a big food stall full of pastries and baguettes.
Of course you can’t go to Paris without a brie baguette and some pastries and they were delicious.
We were not disappointed, the African hot chocolate is amazing and the décor so beautiful. It was so rich and filling and definitely warmed us up after a morning walk in the rain.
We walked down the Champs Elysees and under the Arc du Triomphe. I was hoping to venture up to see the view of Paris, but at this point the rain was pretty bad, so we reluctantly gave it a miss. Onwards to the Eiffel Tower (we got the metro at this point to avoid the rain!), then the Moulin Rouge and up the cobbled streets to Montmatre, where we went to the Place du Tertre and Sacre Couer Basilica.
We left the centre of Paris and travelled to our hotel in Val D’Europe – Relais Spa.
The boy had done good and the hotel came complete with a spa. We slid straight into the Jacuzzi to sooth our tired legs, then ventured out in search for food. On our way, we found a huge shopping centre and stocked up on fresh baguettes, pastries and cheese.

After such a long day I was in bed asleep by 8pm (so rock n roll!).
Oh I love Paris and it looks like you had an amazing time, despite the weather! I've been twice once in bad weather and once when it was gloriously sunny, and I have to admit a better time in the rain as there was less people about and more chance to enjoy the beauty of the place, especially Sacre Coeur, so stunning!! Looking forward to part 2! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great trip and I totally agree about the weather - there were fewer people about, which suited us fine :)
